Rat King I A4 Art Print
Prints of the original Rat King I artwork from Bones & Botanics, featuring hand-painted illustrations of a rat king tangled together, with a golden crown to the top of the image. Painted in muted colours with a black background; perfect as an accent in a gallery wall or as a standalone, statement piece.
Originally painted in watercolour and finished with Micron Graphic pens, this piece is the first in my rat king series. These paintings were inspired by the folklore and legends of rat kings, and their representation as harbingers of doom throughout history, particularly during the plague of the Black Death in the 1300s. This rat king is surrounded by four symbols; bone, grapes, a tooth and a claw. These represent the divide between the wealthy and the poor, and the fight of all in those trying times.
