Paper Fortune Tellers - Witch’s Familiar

Ask the fates what animal would be your familiar with these witchy fortune tellers…

Originally created in pen and watercolour, drawn by hand, these fortune tellers are prints of the original in super fine detail. The outer parts feature drawings and hand-drawn typography, and the insides feature mini illustrations and a bit of background info for each animal.

HOW TO USE:

• Each fortune teller arrives flat and is packed with instructions on how to fold. (You can also find a video of me folding one over on my TikTok & Instagram!)
• Once folded, first choose (or ask a friend to choose) one of the symbols on the outside of the fortune teller (moon, crystal, sun or mushroom).
• Then, open and close the fortune teller as many times as needed to spell the word chosen - alternating from left to right and up and down. (Ie, if you chose 'sun', open and close the fortune teller 3 times to spell 's-u-n').
• The fortune teller should now lay open on a set of four numbers. Choose a number.
• Then, open and close the fortune teller in the same way as before, depending on the number chosen (if you chose 4, open and close it 4 times).
• The fortune teller should again lay open on a set of four numbers (these might be the same as before, or different).
• Now, choose a number for the final time (this is the most important bit!).
• Once you've chosen your number, open the fortune teller up to reveal the animal hiding underneath that number.
• Whatever's there will be your witch's familiar for life - take good care of them!
